Cloister of St. Domingo´s Convent - It is a construction started by the Dominican friars at the end of the 16th century and finished in 1616. Its sober style stands out in its architectonic elements among the peculiar at that time..
Gothic Tower of Jaoan March Gardens - it raises among the gardens of Joan March. The garden shows interesting examples of Mallorcan plants.
El Puig de Maria - cloister situated at the height of 330 metres, at the edge of Pollenca. Chapel, refectory, tower and defence walls were all built between the end of 14th and 15th century.
Town Hall Casa Consistorial - since 1882 the Town Council occupies part of the Monti-sion building built by the Jesuits between 1696 and 1738.
Santuiri - public green area situated 1,5 km from Pollenca on the Pollenca-Badia de Pollenca Road. It is a place of great landscape and botanic interest. Is has public facilities
Albercuis watch-tower- warning tower built at the end of the 16th century to warn about the Moorish landings. It is raised at the beginning of Formentors mountain chain, at a height of 380 metres. From the parking and view-point of "La Creueta" (the little cross) there is a twenty minutes walk.
Roser Vell oratory - at the beginning of Roser Vell Street, we find a typical public fountain with a statue of San Isidre. At the end of the long street we find the Medieval Oratory.
El Calvari I el Pont Roma - Stations of the Cross and Roman Bridge - small hill accessible either by car or on foot through a stairway which begins in Jesús Street, next to the Town Council. It has 365 steps with cypress trees lining both sides.
Cala Boquer - from the same named urbanization and walking through the Boquer houses, the way leads to a lonely and unspoilt creek. On the left side "La Serra del Cavall Bernat" with its characteristics crest of up to 360 meters above sea-level. At its foots we find important buildings from the "Talaiot" époque. The area has a great ornithological interest. Among the especies of vegetation we can find palm-tree-plant and some orchids.
Cala Sant Vicenc prehistoric Caves - they are at the public park and historic enclosure of the urbanization l´Alzineret of Cala Sant Vicenc, on the right-hand side driving into la Cala. Necropolis, considered as one of the best monuments of its gender of the Occidental Mediterranean, especially caver number 7, a real architectural gem, about 3.500 years old. |
